Please bring your own yoga mat! (If you do not have one, please e-mail DIGgsbs@umassmed.edu, and we might be able to provide a mat if available.)
The GSBS Diversity Interest Group (DIG) will host a guided mindfulness meditation and self-care workshop to encourage self-reflection, develop mindfulness-based stress management strategies, and promote engaging in self-care among UMMS trainees.
6:00 - 7:00PM - Guided movement-based yoga mindfulness meditation session led by Brittany Ford, Life Coach and Yoga Instructor
7:00 - 7:30PM - Guided tea mindfulness meditation session led by Jia Li, Tea Mindfulness Expert . She will share a handmade tea bag which is filled with rare ancient loose leave Puerh tea from Yunnan, China. We will talk about Puerh Tea health benefits base on science. Tea is an elixir of the orient. We will explain how puerh tea help us in daily life.
The Tea is Caffeine FREE.
7:30 - 8:00PM - Q&A Session about self-care, mindfulness, and sexual assault awareness
The GSBS Diversity Interest Group at UMass Medical School is hosting this event in observance of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (April 2019) since self-care and mindfulness are large components of sexual assault survivor healing. Resources concerning self-care, mindfulness, mental health, and sexual assault awareness will be available at the event.
